The Things You Didn't Do - Inspired By True Story

| Thursday, July 9, 2009
Remember the day I borrowed your brand new car And I dented it.
I thought you’d kill me. But you didn't.

And the time I drag you to the beach and you’d said, ‘It would rain.’

And it did. I thought you’d say I told you so. But you didn't.

And the time I flirted will all the guys to make you jealous. And you were.

I thought you’d leave me. But you didn't.

And remember the time I spilled blueberry pie all over your brand new car rug.

I thought you’d smacked me. But you didn't.

And the time I forgot to tell you that the dance was formal and you showed up in jeans.

I thought you’d leave me forever. But you didn't.

With this poem, I can see the ideal man I've been dreaming of. He’s the man who never loses his patience with me. He’s never tired of my silly ways, nor judge my flaws because he accepts me completely as to what, who, and how I am. With him, I can freely do the things that I want to do and he’s always there to support me. And when I fail on something, he’s there to put me up and gives me the courage and strength to keep going, until I succeed. I feel safe and comforted because he’s there to protect me, and make sure that I will not be harmed. There are no dull moments with him as he always makes me laugh and takes away my stress and sadness. He’s the man who brings out the best in me…and he’s the man I am ready to live the rest of my life with, for eternity.
